A Lottery representative will contact winner via e-mail and/or phone to make arrangements for winner to redeem the prize. The winner shall then file a claim for his/her Pro Football Hall of Fame prize with the New Hampshire Lottery at its headquarters. Winner will be issued a W-2G form for tax purposes (will be provided by end of January 2015) and will be responsible for filing this with their 2014 tax returns. Federal taxes are part of this prize and will be paid on behalf of each winner. The value of the trip is $15,000.
Pursuant to RSA 284:21-v, Child Support Intercept, the Lottery is required to review all lottery prize claims subject to federal tax reporting with a child support database provided by DHHS. In the event that the winner of the Pro Football Hall of Fame drawing owes child support, pursuant to RSA 284:21-v the value of the due child support amount shall be reduced from the wholesale value of the prize. In either case the winner is responsible for all applicable taxes. (1) Within 30 days from draw date the winner shall pay the total arrearage due as determined by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to the DHHS after which the winner shall be entitled to the prize. (2) If the winner fails to pay the total amount due within 30 days from draw date, the winner agrees to receive a cash prize equal to the wholesale value of the hard goods offered in this Pro Football Hall of Fame prize Package. In this instance, the winner shall receive the net amount, if any, of the wholesale value less the amount of the due child support arrearage as determined by the DHHS. With this option, the W-2G form which will be mailed out by the end of January 2015 for tax purposes in the amount of the established wholesale value will be issued and the winner will be responsible for filing this with their 2014 tax returns.
